The Consulate General in Osaka provides services to American Citizens living or traveling in the following twenty prefectures: Aichi, Ehime, Fukui, Gifu, Hiroshima, Hyogo, Ishikawa, Kagawa, Kochi, Kyoto, Mie, Nara, Okayama, Osaka, Shimane, Shiga, Tokushima, Tottori, Toyama and Wakayama. If you live elsewhere in Japan, you may be able to receive services at the U.S. Embassy or one of our other Consulates, located in Tokyo, Nagoya*, Sapporo, Fukuoka, and Naha.
*Residents of Aichi, Gifu and Mie Prefectures may visit the U.S. Consulate in Nagoya for consular service when a consular officer from Osaka visits Nagoya once a month every second Wednesday of the month. All non-emergency services are provided by appointment only. If you require emergency assistance, please contact us prior to traveling to the Consulate General. Office hours are 9 a.m. to noon, and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding official American and Japanese holidays.

Please bring your passport or a photo ID and your appointment notice when you visit the Consulate. Please keep in mind that a security check is required to enter the building. Liquids and electronics are not allowed.
